PHOENIX Is On Fire!

Another weekend, another Open Meet and as usual our swimmers did not disappoint.

The highlight of day 1 was the “skins” race – which involves the top 8 swimmers from the 200m IM swimming off against each other in a series of races, with the slowest dropping out at the end of each race. The twist is that the stroke is randomly selected each time – apart from the last race which is freestyle. Oh, and there’s money to be won (think about that next time you hesitate about entering a 200m IM, swimmers!). CPAC was well represented in both the girls and boys races – Ethan Hay came a very admirable fifth in his event, up against some much older swimmers; and Emma Wiggins and Maisie Marshall both got through to the last three in the women’s event with Maisie taking the crown!

Day 2 saw another brilliant day at Worcester, lots of pbs & medals. Fabulous teamwork, including unique CPAC body art! Downtime in between races included perfecting the art of skipping! As usual our well behaved swimmers made us very proud. A special mention for Ethan Hay who won Top Boy and £50!
